Build Your Own Damn Building

It’s a topic I’ve touched on many times. Most dramatically in my podcast episode with Gary Vaynerchuk.

Recently, I ran into someone that decided to make their business development strategy attempting to tear down my building instead of just building their own. A little more specifically, they even went as far as to do it on my customers Facebook post to signal to them that their work was better than ours.

Come on, man! Really? That’s how you want to be known? That’s what you want your brand to say about you?

You catch more flies with honey than with salt, my friend.

The idea of building your own building is simply focusing on your business, whether it be personally or professionally.

Seriously, it’s as simple as that.

When you find it necessary to rip apart your competitors or colleagues or friends or frenemies, you’re not winning. You can fool yourself, but eventually it all catches up to you.
