This time last year, we picked up our first official Aftermarq customer: Homes.com out of Norfolk, VA.
In what was a humorous set of videos we produced, including a few that Amy Schmittauer and I starred in ourselves, our vision got clearer.
This wasn’t the type of work we wanted to do.
At least not alone. You see, ideating, strategy creation, production, marketing execution and even being the talent is not a one person show. You need a team. It took us another six months to hire our first employee. Three weeks to hire the second. Now, one full year later, we’re up to four employees, two contractors (not including ourselves) and we’ve been able to work with customers like SAP, Intel Corporation, Rightside, Paul Mitchell Schools, Convince & Convert, and more.
The moral of the story is: don’t try being a ‘one man band’ or jack of all trades.
Master your strengths, outsource the rest.
