I took the plunge.

I stepped on the scale, looked in the mirror and decided it was time.

Sluggish, no energy, drinking too much coffee, I knew this wasn’t the way to operate at my peak mentally.

I hired a personal trainer.

Leading up to this decision, I had to come to a few realizations, ones that were otherwise difficult in the past.

  1. I didn’t have the expertise to get to where I wanted.
  2. I didn’t have the time to put into researching workouts, nutrition, etc.
  3. I needed someone to hold me accountable, someone that wasn’t too close to me that would sugarcoat things.
  4. My mental/creative performance was suffering.
  5. I needed to actually pay for the trainer.

So I asked around, did a little digging and found Joe Gernetzke of Sentinel Performance right here in Columbus, Ohio.

The benefits of using Joe to train me go beyond anything I could have ever done for myself.

Joe is preparing my workouts, pushing me to do movements and weights I would normally just shrug off if I wasn’t feeling 100%. He’s guiding me in my nutrition. And this all happens in 4–5 hours a week (including my driving time).

Why does any of this matter?

Sometimes, you need to just focus on your strengths and outsource the shit you’re not good at.

✌🏻❤️😀
